Concept Armor will work with either LITE or XL. Make sure to use only one Plate Pack unless you know they cover separate plates. You need to use this with a pre-rewrite version of ACE Medical. The auto-add script may give two plates instead of one. Please use the Discord or the bug reporting thread below for reporting issues.Ĭompatibility with Armaforces medical is spotty. LITE Plate Pack (Contains a small, curated selection): XL Plate Pack (Contains a massive selection): This does not contain any plates by itself, so make sure to run it with an AAPM: Plate Pack.
#Arma 3 body armor upgrade#
NATO's body armor should also follow AEP-2920, not NIJ.This is the core release for Advanced Armor Plate Mod, a realism-focused body armor overhaul that allows you to place plates and panels in your vest which upgrade your protection. The base game model is not tanky at all, even with CSAT's armored uniforms that not only follow the wrong standard, (Why does CSAT equipment follow NIJ? It should be the Chinese domestic standard or GOST 50774-95) but should on paper only provide protection from handguns. The lower the passthrough, the less damage from a bullet actually goes through your vest and does HP damage. The higher the armor, the less damage you take, say, from a grenade. Remember, if you say your Carrier Special Rig takes only two shots of 7.62x51mm to be defeated, then remember a real life Level III insert has to take six without fail to pass the NIJ level III test, and many can take more. As far as I know, armor is protection against explosive damage while passthrough is protection against bullets. My mod introduces hundreds of hard armor inserts and actual real world body armor standards to produce a far more authentic experience than the base game "crummy compromise" body armor "standard" that just reeks of virtually no research done whatsoever. If you want to see true body armor, consider my Advanced Armor Plate Mod. The RNG is to represent the chances of hitting a vital or just a graze, but I feel it's too gamey. Idk dude whenever i am having CSATs i always sponge a lot more than on NATO/AAF.It might be arma but i cannot tell for sureĪrma's base game infantry damage model has a lot of RNG, in addition to the fact base game 5.56x45mm is very weak. Just remember, Level IV is not inclusive of Level III. Berlioz:AAB_EAGLE, you do realize that I'm discussing the concept of the armor "level" and not raw protection gained, right? To see what I mean about armor "levels", take a gander at this below document. So in short, the SCR + CSAT is NOT tanky at all. I'm talking threat-based, not the underwhelming raw addition of armor. And I cant even argue that this system is 'realistic' since I havent seen any armor irl that can take 5-7 body shots 7. Most of the gunfights are super spamy with lower tier weapons.

In reality, Level II (9x19mm) and Level IV (.30-06 M2AP) combined does not equal some ungodly Level VI. In arma 3 I have no clue how many shots it is gonna take to kill my target 90 of the time. So with the British MOD rolling out the new Virtus body armour system to the british army I decided to try recreate it for Arma.

In reality, even Level III inserts are rated to stop six shots of 7.62x51mm M80 ball with no real damage to the user, so you can completely disregard notions of "sponge" with the Super Carrier Rig because I don't think it makes real-life Level III standard, let alone the fictional Level V. The system that Arma's system is based off of is NIJ 0101.06, evident through the use of Level II, Level III, Level IV, and the boldly-marketed Level V.
